On Friday the 13th of April, PG 165 took the initiative to organize a combine school CF meeting for the schools in Melaka. About a month ago Raj our manager proposed the idea. We decided to go for it seeing that something like this hasn't been done in Melaka at the youth level in years. There has always been a flurry of activity in KL when it comes to conferences and concerts. We decided to do something about it in Melaka. It was also a good chance to get the students acquainted with PG 165. So we started planning and practicing. (Friday the 13th Gig Posters courtesy of Melisa @ http://hoyden-mel.blogspot.com)
Here are some pics of the day.
Students from different schools mingling around...

We had about 40 plus students from various school CFs in Melaka. The response was really encouraging seeing that it was a first time something like this was done in a long time.
 PG 165 rocking it loud...
 Vijay.
 Zhen-Xin.

Shih Wern was our stand in keybordist...kudos to her for doing such a great job with such short notice...we think she did an amazing job.
(picture taken during AudioWarfare MMU Cyberjaya 2005) Deric our keybordist was unable to make it for Friday because it was a working day. His presence and X-factor persona was sorely missed. However he got a rousing welcome at our Hartamas gig on the 18th April which will be in our next update.
 Justin.
 Jason.
Apart from the music, we also had a video show about Choices. Specifically it was about the consequences of Pre-marital sex among school students and how it involved making the right decisions under peer pressure. Raj also gave a strong challenge to the students to stand up for the right choices.

We had an array of volunteers that we'd like to appreciate. Solomon and Ravin was our PA and AV personnel for that afternoon. Apart from that, we like to thank all the ushers and everyone who made themselves available for the Friday 13th gig.

In the end, we had an awesome closure for the Friday the 13th gig by pumping it real loud and refreshments at the end. We were all sweaty and tired but it was worth it all.
As usual the group picture is a must, although some of the students had already left by the time we had this picture.
A crazy pic by a bunch of crazy people...
We'd like to thank all the schools who came to the Friday the 13th Gig. This event wouldn't be a success without you people. We also would like to thank all the volunteers who helped and supported this gig. From the ushers, to the camera people, to the refreshments, and the drivers. Thanks a lot.
The response slips that we gathered was overall very exceedingly positive and another gig for school CFs is definitelty on the agenda. Perhaps it would be on a larger scale.
one of the response slip read " PG 165 shouldn't all wear black because they look scary"
God bless you guys.Labels: band, CF, gig, pg 165, school, songs |

PG 165 played for the MMU SPARC Lost Masquerade prom on the 30th March 2007 at The Legacy Hotel, Melaka. Here are some pics...
 Rocking up the stage...

We did 5 cover songs which were:
Stars by Switchfoot Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol Here Without You by Three Doors Down It Ends Tonight by All American Rejects Smooth by C Santana featuring Rob Thomas
It wasn't as big as trinite, but it was more cosy...a pretty glitzy affair.
 Justin...
Justin again...? This is his real self.
 Vijay...
You don't want to mess with a very hungry Zhen-Xin...
Wayne getting some love from Justin...
As always, our faithful roadie... Roadie Wayne
Roadie Wayne accompanied us and helped us get our gear together. For your info, Wayne is also MMU's The Stage 2006 winner, which is a singing competition...
PG 165 with our lovely Loatian friend whom we know as Lilo but her real name is much longer than that...she looks Chinese but she speaks Thai and Laotian better.
Just chilling man...it was a real fun night. No stress, no worries...
PG 165 and our fellow guest artist, Project Ei8ht.
Deric was unable to join us for the first time due to working commitments in KL since the gig was on a working day...he's presence was sorely missed... =P
Catch our next gig in Melaka on the 13th April at City Community Church and on the 18th April at JamAsia Cafe, Hartamas. Admission for both gigs are free. Please come and rock the house with us. =DLabels: gig, pg 165, prom |
