A night of music, food, fellowship, bands, great friends and a whole lot of other fun stuff...
 Unabashed website (click me)

In addition to that, PG 165 will be performing their very own original material that we've performed and played to various crowds in and outside MMU... such as You're Everything to Me, My World (aka The Sparrow Song), I Will and an unplug version of My Friend, Work of Art and some really really unheard material just fresh from the oven.

Also don't miss the chance to check out our latest song entitled "Falling Over"...
This gig is a must for those who've not heard us before, it's a privilege to be able to share this amazing journey with you...let's get acquaited.
Let's make this gig a rocking event...
God Bless and see you there...

Jason: Can you smell the food from here? ZX: Woi...I'm hungry lar...sigh....sob sob...
 ZX and Tze Seong...
VJ couldn't make it for this gig because he had to send his brother to KLIA on that day itself. Therefore Tze Seong, a good friend and a pretty decent drumer himself became our sessionist drummer for PG 165 on that special night. Courtesy of Vijay's Yamaha Stagecustom and excellent Sound System provided by Soon Kim Hock(SKH), the sound and feel was excellent.
(side track a bit: i think for almost every gig we've played in malacca, we've coincidentally teamed up with SKH...much to each other's pleasant surprise. From MMU to outside events...knowing they're handling the sound literally throws a heavy weight off our shoulders. They are familiar with our set up, and vice versa. We respect the dedication shown by the chief sound engineer at every gig we played...unlike some sound personel who treat you stupid...hahaha )
 Pastor Joanne and Deric
Pastor Joanne...the emcee for the wedding. Someone who stayed at our last Battle of The Bands in MITC many months ago...even though the event overshot the time and ended at a ridiculous 2 am...
even though we didn't win anything due to dubious circumstances. She still stayed and offered her support. She's given PG 165 a lot of opportunities...thank you P Joanne...
Samuel Yau : I want the drunk, heart broken, crooner look...(btw, his girl was there at the dinner also la so nothing to be heart broken about...hahaha)
Star of the Night of Celebration(NOC) 1, 2 and 3, a huge Christmas musical play held in MMU yearly in front of an audience of 800 students. Was the requested and guest vocalist for this occasion. Step aside Michael Buble. He crooned the guest all night with songs from Newsong, Eric Clapton, Michael W Smith, Rirchard Marx, Inuendo and Manbai to name a few. I kept hearing compliments for this wonder voice after the event.
but i had to keep him off all the oily, spicy food...hahaha...and no, we didn't eat any of the wedding food except, maybe a prawn...
PG 165 featuring Tze Seong on the drums and Samuel Yau on guest vocals.
THE GLITZY EVENT

 Woweeee

 ZX in his glory...hahaha
I managed to grap a quick photo of the very tired couple after everyone left...
My conclusion of the gig....
It was one of the most relaxed and enjoyable one I've ever played in. With much of the singing responsibility given to Sam and Justin crooning special songs when he wasn't eating (had to sit with his family most of the time and eat in front of us...hmmm...). I then had the luxury of working on some instrumental guitar solos throughout the wedding as much and as long as i liked...with the band playing tremendously well. Deric and I agreed that this was one of the better gigs we've done...although it was a little bit too lovey dovey for our personal taste.
We played and sang Ronan Keating's This I Promise You as the bride and groom walked in. we did everything on our set list except maybe one which we didn't quite practice.
Deric: Man...i've never played so many love songs at one go...
we were enjoying ourselves so much that we didn't want to stop playing but seeing the look on the SKH people (i wanna pack up look) and as the last of the guest trickled out, so we decided to end the glitzy affair...
Also the crowd was really great and responsive and LISTENING...and applauding and acknowledging us at the right times...hearing lavish compliments from my pastor, music director and the bride's mum and a couple of others is a real bonus.
I really thank God for the opportunity to be able to make this event a memorable one...as all weddings should be.
Sorry i don't have singing photos of Justin and Sam. My camera wasn't in efficient hands that night...i think others took the pictures with their own cameras. And photos of the band and the wedding couple were taken by the official cameraman. Anyway, all's good. Congratulations to Jason and Rachel...it was a glitzy night...a dreamy affair.
Next on our schedule is the CHILLER PLANT GIG in KL which falls on the 25th Nov. I shall get the flyer up within this week...
Stay tuned in and God bless.

Last 17-27th October, 3 members of PG 165 went on a mission team with our MMU Christian Fellowship to Kudat, Sabah to serve and teach in 2 villages as well as to encourage the people in the churches there...the first village was called Kampung Narandang and the second was Kampung Mompilis. The beautiful Kadazan Rungus people...
We were teaching English as well as imparting whatever we could to the locals there...there wasn't electricty in the two villages that we visited and the last village that we went had no running water in the house...so we had to bathe under the tap at night with just our shorts (for the boys)...ask Justin and he'll explain in detail how he washed himself...hahaa. The sky was always clear and starry with the milky way way visible...And we woke daily to the crowing of the rooster about 6 am...It's an experience that we trully miss and cherish.
Justin and I also learned to pluck coconuts...hahaha...4 in 15 minutes...but the local Kadazan pastor plucked 10 in less than 10 minutes...alone.
Deric played rounders (like baseball) with the local kids...funny man...
Justin, Jason and Deric. We climbed Mt Kinabalu...its far by the most challenging thing i've ever done. It can break more than your bones...hahah...you need to be mentally strong as well... Take note: 1) Let the Potter carry your stuff.. 2) Buy that rm 3 walking stick... the best 3 bucks i spent. 3) Bring more than 2 sneaker bars...bring lotsa food(Deric's point) 4) Bring lots proper clothes...it's freezing 5 degrees up there.... 5) Make sure you go jogging for 3 months prior before the climb...trust me.. 6) Take steroids (hahaha...juz kidding)
Anway I don't have the pictures yet...but for more on that, you can visit our personal blogs where the links are located at the bottom right of this blog. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our NEXT GIG ...
 Jason(another Jason) and Rachel's wedding...
Justin's sister's wedding this 11th November.
PG 165 will be performing and playing for this lovey dovey affair at Equtorial Hotel, Melaka in front of an approximate crowd of 700 people...wohoo...
personally i've not played so many love songs at one go...sigh...everyone's getting hitched nowadays... Anyway our very own Deric has been busying himself with the Wedding Marches and a Canon in D...all the best bro...
Our set list includes: This I Promise You - Ronan Keating I Will Be Here - Steven Curtis Chapman Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton I Want to Grow Old with You - Adam Sandler When God Made You - Newsong I Could Not Ask for More - Edwin Mccain Love of My Life - Jim Brickman n Michael W. Smith
Instrumentals: Everything I Do - Bryan Adams At Last - Etta James Can't Help Falling in Love - Michael Buble L-O-V-E - Nat King Cole Bagai Rajawaili
and possibly- Belaian Jiwa - Inuendo Kau Ilhamku - Manbai Now And Forever - Richard Marx
so, yeah, we've been pretty busy being romantic and all...heh...
Anyway our next gig on the 25th November will be in KL...so keep your ears open for the next update... It's called the Chiller Plant Gig...
immeadietly a day after the United Live concert in SIB...will post it laters...
